Teachers are given the gift to influence, shape, and produce; this blessing should not be taken lightly! Each child’s capacity is infinite and it’s our job to make sure each one of them is seen and heard, at every stage of their journey. My mission as a dance educator is to meet the children where they are in their educational journey to give them the tools and knowledge to leave my classroom ready for the next stage of their life. My goal to provide a safe, nurturing environment, while sharing tangible knowledge along the way.
My vision for all my students is they become aware citizens of the world who look to make a difference. I take pride in my classroom being a place where diversity is embraced. Through dance, we will dive into many different cultures, histories, and traditions that have shaped the world we live in now. Culturally responsive pedagogy (CRP) is at the forefront of all my lessons to give the students a well-rounded perspective of this ever evolving melting pot that is America. In my dance studio we will use a multicultural approach to dance education as a way to advocate for social justice and equity in our communities.

Dance has always had the power to shift the perspective paradigm, and my goal is to continue this tradition through various physical and historical content. Humans are more adaptable to absorbing new information when they feel positivity, love, and encouragement in a safe judgment-free zone. Helping students realize that their cultural intelligence is important, and bringing themselves fully in any environment is an asset in the real world. My goal is to help guide the next generations of loving, compassionate, socially aware, leaders of the world. My philosophy of taking a multicultural approach to dance education allows students to have a connection to all movement styles, while seeing themselves in all dance genres.
